  • I have been a member of Avalon Baptist Church for 19 years. My kids grew up here, accepted Christ as their Savior because of the treaching of God's word. Our pastor loves The Word of our God and our members try to welcome all that come to worship. Come and visit

  • God was working in very wonderful ways when he guided my family to this church. We felt at home from the first time we stepped inside the doors. The pastor is so down to earth and has a love for the Lord that is clearly evident. The leaders of the church are accessible and ready and willing to pray with you. There are activities for all ages and stages of life. Since there are two services, individuals have the chance to either come early (8am) then go to Sunday school or come for Sunday school (9:30am) then attend service (10:45am). Sunday night is Discipleship cafe (6pm)where attendees meet for Bible study, food and fellowship. Wednesday nights is another time for food, fellowship and prayer ministry. Each week a different ministry team prepares a meal to raise funds to support their needs. A family of five can eat for $20. After dinner we meet for bible study and prayer. The children and youth program is very active. There is a church van that picks up students from Hobbs and Kings Middle schools as well as Milton High school. Ministry areas include: Worship Band, Youth Worship Band, Puppets, Dance, Prayer, Servants Hands, Paintball, Softball and various different Bible study groups. The church hosts community groups such as Girl Scouts, Dorcus Sewing group and Milton Community Choir. We love God, love People, and seek first His Kingdom! We seek to bring Jesus to all we meet.

I needed help to lift small items out of my storage unit since I have an accident injury. I had been told the church had a truck with a back lift. It was something of a timeline priority. The gov kept my social security check and then took away my food stamps. After 5 days with no food, I thought I would die. I asked all of the churches for help. I had made so many trips downtown to Social Security, I also had about two drops of gas left. One Church only came with survival food to save my life and they put some gas in my car so I could try to mend the computer error on my government files. They were an older couple with their own cares and schedules, but they came when I called. They obeyed G-d's mandate. Some kind of love. They do not give a stone when asked for a fish. This Church sent out its peanut gallery to hand me a blue booklet so I could enroll in life skills classes and continue to go without food. Lovely. Some people don't understand that food and water come before classes especially when you already have 3 advanced degrees and all the life skills of ten people. What did Jesus say? "When you do these things, it's that you have done them to ME." and also, "On that day, you will call My Holy Name, and I will say: 'I do not know you.' " My sister was totally alone when her house flooded twice and asked for the same available truck and help. This Church also never showed up. Seems to be a pattern unless you get stuck in the mud. Maybe next time the genius Pastor gets his truck stuck in the mud, someone should hand him the blue booklet so he can sign up for life skills, and you just walk off. He was late for church and late to see about his son, Serious lack of life skills, it would seem. Try that and see how it feels to you. That's not a missing check or no food, or a flood endangering a 70 year old lady all alone without help. It's okee-dokee kareoke. The path is narrow indeed. The people who showed up did not know me. I had not eaten with them. Their only reason to help me was that they were taught that they are the hands and feet of Jesus working on this earth to do His will, and they obeyed. This Pastor also advised me to never speak to my sister again when he knew she had PTSD and had dangerous outbursts. When you get old and can't recall things, maybe you should just be wiped aside also. Too inconvenient. I am blessed. G-d truly loves me. What you people are, I do not want to know. Be sure to keep lots of blue books on hand. They will save you from having to act. Well, it is after 1 AM. I may be crippled, but I will not forsake another person or animal in need even straining to hop along. One lady told me not to raise Cain. My side raises Lazarus. You can keep Cain with you and on your lips. Ta-Ta great Christians. Unbelievable. My poor sister. Well, I went to help her in the flood. Where were all of you?
